10 out of 10 I highly recommend! The food here is delicious! The carne frita was tender and not dry and chewy. The alcapurrias had delicious flavor. The morcilla is the BEST I've had! Can't wait to come back and try more items.
My wife and I found this little gem, had taste for Puertorican food, not your fancy restaurant but food home made taste, generous portions with pretty fair prices, their menu is ample with plenty of choices to select from plus friendly and attentive staff made our dining experience enjoyable, we’ll definitely drive from western suburbs to enjoy delicious fresh made dishes. Here are our dishes, definitely a place to visit. Place to dine in, however, lots of takeout.
Food was fantastic...ate the alcapurrias de yuca and rellenos de papa...they made them fresh...so yummy!!! Will definitely go again & again.
4.5 stars - high quality food for great prices at a hidden gem restaurant. Customer service was great - welcoming and willing to ask questions. Great food options in menu - I need to come back to try other meals. I ordered a Bistec (Steak) Jibarito sandwich with rice and it was delicious. My only concern is the amount of garlic, but that’s just preference. I also would’ve preferred a bit more cheese since it was lacking. Also got the Plato Tipico (typical PR plate) from the Mixta Dinner menu which includes rice, salad, pastel (Puerto Rican tamale) and roasted pork. Delicious, a must try. More of a take out restaurant, but you can also eat in - expect a comfortable, non-fancy environment with good music.
